Hi Folks,

Yesterday, my Wm DeVry B.S. co Aristocrat razor from Madaspenhome arrived and I had my first shave with it this morning. In over three months of straight shaving, this is only my second shave with a really well honed razor (the first being my very first shave - before I nicked the blade!). I've got to say, it was very nice. I've managed to get my other razors sharp enough that the comfort level is almost as good, but not quite like this. There was zero tugging and the first pass was easily as close as my usual two passes. The second pass put it at nearly as close a shave as I've ever achieved with a straight and I didn't bother with any touch ups (had to get to work). I could feel a little razor burn threatening around my neck (it's hard to remember an easy touch) but all in all, the comfort level was great.

I really dig this little razor - it's light weight, 9/16 and shorter than the Wapienica. I like the smaller size for maneuvering around my goatee. Now I have a go-to razor and a great benchmark while I try to put the wicked edges on the Wapienica and the Fromm.

Anyhow. In all avocations, I see newbies trying, with religious zeal, to nail down the exact correct methodology. I'm inclined to believe that a person should do whatever works for them. However, if everyone gives the same advice, such as "Get a razor honed by someone who knows how", then it's likely good advice. Thanks, everyone.
