first str8 has arrived!!
mailman just brought my Wapi and strop from Ruprazor. Can't wait to get home. I hope my World of Straight Razor dvd came in the mail to my home address; want to watch it before I make my first attempt.

Congrats man! Great anticipiation when you receive your first stuff. Now, when that enthusiasm subsides, take your time during your learning. It's not a race. Don't feel that you are obligated to do your whole face WTG, XG and ATG your first shave. Don't be disappointed if you don't get the coveted BBS. It will come in time. In the meantime enjoy your new set. Kenrup delivers a wonderful value...

Thanked: 4Definitely take some of the advice you will find here about not shaving so much your first go round. I finally got my razor honed and took it to my face this weekend for the first time! I read some people say you should be patient and just shave gradually more and more each day, only beginning with a little at a time. Despite this advise, I took one pass WTG and thought, "Damn, that's sweet and easy!" Needless to say, I did all 3 passes WTG, XG, and ATG all over my face and it is still red and burning right now! HAHAHA . . . oh well, I like to just jump into things sometimes and this is the price I pay.
Good luck, aside from taking your time on the shaving process, I would recommend getting your razor professionally honed if you've never done it and your razor doesn't pass any of the sharp tests before shaving. Take care!

The anticipation is great. Just remember to take it slow and enjoy.
OH and don't expect the world on your first shave, give it time. Shaving with a straight razor is a skill that has to be learned. Best of luck with your new razor I hope it brings you many a great shave.
