Thanked: 234double edged knife
I put a new blade in the Shavette last night and used it this morning, it went really well, I was getting a fantastic shave.
Then little nicks started to show them selves, I still have a fantastic shave, it's just a bit of a blood bath.
The irony that depending on the criteria it could have been my best or worst shave did make me laugh though. Certainly keep you on your toes those shavettes.

I have tried mine 2 times and found how easy it is to cut yourself pretty quick.
I think mine is going back in the cabinet for awhile. I'm sure blade selection is the most important thing you can do with a shavette style razor. I'll try it next time with the most forgiving DE blades I have...probably something from ASR or Dorco. I'll save the sharp 7 O'clock's for my DE's.

Hey Gregs656... that sounds familiar..maybe ease a bit on the pressure..and/or a bit more shallow angle?
+1 on the blade selection.. I use feathers... they are bloody sharp..

Thanked: 234yer I've got the 7 o'clocks in mine, they're pretty fracking sharp.
I think it was a pressure/angle issue.
They were all nicks from the corner of the blade, I think I'd just got used to shaving with a slightly duller blade. Still, I only started shaving like this a week ago, and I'm putting it all down to experience.

I know that Floorpizza had some problems with the two spikes from the DE blade...
He rounds them off before use.

I havent had any problems with the blades I use.. I guess the Feathers are rounded a bit at the corners..

I tried to use a shavette several times and all that I could achieve was cutting little red gashing all over my face. Of course they wouldn't show up until I went to work too.
