I did Strop before I used it and same thing as what your describing happened there was a very noticeable line on the Strop. I don't need a magnifiying glass to see this one however, just the right angle in some life and I can see it.

Send it to Lynn and be done with the questions!! Pay the xtra 1.95 to have him evaluate the blade too. You won't regret it. Better to start off with a known status on the blade than the questions you have already.
good luck.
Sorry Guys, but can't be a sealed box from us as we hone every razor before it leaves us. Obviously, we have to open them and take the razor out to hone and test them.
Thanks,
Lynn
jmiller just send it to Lynn or anyone else here who does honing, It will cost you $15 to $20 and you will be set. I just noticed a small rough spot in my razor last night, I dont even know how I did it Im always so carefull. I actually noticed it while stropping last night a small shiney spot toward the tip of my blade, when I ran my fingernail accross it I could feel the roughness. I had just shaved with it 10 minutes prior and didnt notice anything wrong, actually got a great shave.
Ahh, the light shines down and the problem is illuminated.... what a difference you are about to experience in a shave ready blade... keep us posted on the razor after Lynn gets ahold of it, I'm predicting night and day difference my friend.:gl:
