ok, will stop repeating. I know I have a tendency to repeat thing expecially when they get on my nerves like this does. I am having a lot of honing sucess at he moment, I am starting to get to a point where my Inox is doing a bit better then my double edges do. My trouble is that being new to straight shaving it takes me a while to do the job this way and first thing in the morning time is not one thing I have a lot of.
JB!!! JB, the man just offered to hone your razor for free...GLEN! Offered to hone your razor! Do it man!
And Ironbeard, too!
Seriously, you won't even know what a sharp razor feels like till you get one honed by someone who already knows what they're doing. And I think I can safely say, even without having one of his blades, that Glen knows what the heck he's doing.
Oh...and...Oh Noees! I has so many razors that aren't sharp and it's all someone's fault! I wish someone would hone these three...no, four...make that 6 razors! ;)
I have had quite good results w/ INOX straights and if you don't want to send it to Glen I will hone it for free. PM me for address. In any event it sounds like you are giving it a good try. You should have at least one good blade to gauge you efforts by though and Glen and I are willing to help you with this. The only cost would be shipping and a wait for your blade. Sounds like a good offer to me.
:rofl2::rofl2:
I know Glen. It's always the problem that a newbie gets a dull "shave ready" razor. That's always the case. It is never bad technique, improper stropping, or face prep that has anything to do with cuts/nicks and razor burn. It's that horrible edge...
Yeah and when you get that razor back from Glen, DON'T STROP IT.
This is how your razor will feel at its sharpest. Let it be your benchmark so that you know what to strive for when you do your own honing.
Good luck!
Ogie
JB and Ironbeard, take Glen's generous offer. I have str8s honed by him and he does excellent work. You will discover what a truly shave ready razor shaves like.
