I just received my very first Dovo 6/8 imitation tortoise shell razor today. I am anxious to see how it shaves in the am. I will keep you posted. Thanks to Don and Lynn at SRD. I can tell they did a SUPERB job honing the razor. The razor feels perfectly balanced in my hands. I think I already have the straight razor bug. I just bought an old GENCO off ebay for around 16.00. I am going to send it off to be professionally restored. Thanks to all for their advice. :)

Yes, I like them because they just feel nice, and they are cheap and get the job done.!

That Dovo was my first razor as well, about 6 weeks ago. LOVE IT! I have bought three more since, and it's still my favorite. It shaved VERY well straight from Lynn too.
The Dovo's are a very good shaving razor, you will have many good years with it through proper maintenance. Enjoy !
I have the 5/8 Dovo Tortoise. If you need tips on keeping it sharp, e-mail me. Its a good bang for the buck performance razor.

I too have a 5/8 Dovo Tortoise. I used it quite often until I was introduced to something a little heavier. Great starter razor for anyone though. You also purchased it from a great supplier. Good Luck with your Genco.Quote:
