Hello SRP!

My name is Rob and I'm in Toronto, Canada.
I've been shaving with a DE since last Fall and have decided to pursue all aspects of straight shaving. I just couldn't bear to continue to exclusively use my DE while continuously hearing how much better and closer a shave can be with a straight. Currently, my plan is to keep my DE for quick touch ups, and those occasional rushed mornings.

I got lucky yesterday and found a fairly mint Boker King Cutter at a local Antique/old clothing store for what I consider a reasonable price. With the knowledge I acquired from this site, I looked through and inspected about a dozen used straight blades. After looking through several pitted and well used blades, I came across my Boker, I wonder if it has ever been used! From the condition of the store and the well used eclectic items, this was definitely the diamond amongst the coal. Well, in my eyes any way. I paid the ticketed price and didn't haggle or ask for any discount on this item. I felt that the elderly lady, who was probably the owner, could use the sale, and could do with the $5 I could have potentially saved. I'm sure it meant more to her than to me. She handed me a business card and asked me to remember to come back and see her again, or to send a friend sometime.

I got home, lathered up, and just tried the blade on my cheeks and neck. What fun, and a successful first endeavor with a straight blade.

I will need to have it honed by one of the honemeisters on SRP.

I'm looking forward to the learning process and giving into the RAD that I already have. I'm just waiting until I'm proficient with my technique before acquiring more.
