help name the blade.
i recently bought a razor from the bay of E and it is a great shave but i cant quite put a name on who made it or for that matter if it is even a known brand. while most of the lettering is warn away i can make out j. rtorrey co. (i think) and under that is the letters HS with what looks like a arrow going threw it.

i also have another razor from Davis chicago il. and was wondering if anybody here has herd of them before.

Hi Bunny,
Chances are it is a J.R. Torrey from Worcester, Massachusetts ca 1858 - 1963
The logo is an arrow through the letters U.S.
Great Shavers!! I have several including one from my Grandfather.

I have a Torrey as well, though mine's got a barber's notch. Excellent shaver.
J.

Yes, Torrey's a great razor. I love mine. I would suggest cleaning it up a bit. I've heard of the oils in fingerprints leaving more permanent marks.

thanks guys that is right. and i did clean the fingerprints off right after i saw them on the picture i just have oily hands so i have to wipe it off after every time i hold it. it is the best shaver i have. thank you for the id so i can look at more of the same brand.
