A little over a week into this straight shaving thing.

I'm still very methodical and slow, but today was the first day I got a BBS- or nearly baby butt smooth shave- everywhere with no nicks or weepers. I have finally managed to duplicate the quality of shave I was getting with the DE and SE razors. I honestly thought it would take a lot longer than that! Oh, the razor I'm using the past few days is a sweet old George Wostenholm & Sons 5/8 that I got on B&B's classified page.

Now, I'm prepared to endure the "bad day shaves" and I know I'm still early in the learning curve, but the quality of the shave is what it is all about after all. I was sure I'd be doing this a few weeks before I could get a really decent shave with a straight. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Today I "manned up" to an ATG pass on my neck, and worked on my left hand usage of the razor. Still feels awkward, but it's getting better all the time.
