I'm looking at upgrading to a new strop and converting my old one to a pasted strop, but I have a couple of questions before I do. First, as far as a new strop goes, I'm trying to decide between a 3-inch Ruprazor and Vintage Blades brand. (I'm also having the difficulty of selecting either horse or cow hide...) Any thoughts as to which I should choose?

The strop I have now if the Ruprazor Filly, and I'd like to paste it with one micron and .5 micron diamond paste on either side, but I'm not sure whether the rough side is able to be pasted, or if it is, with which grade of paste it should be pasted.

I'll appreciate whatever help you fellas can offer.
