In what is probably common conduct, I've been collecting my gear for awhile and obsessing over getting everything just as it should be.

Tonight, it was all there. Time for the First.Shave.

I stropped the low-end Dovo I'd bought and made sure it passed the hanging hair test. Score!

I soaked my face with a hot, wet towel for several minutes, and then applied a thin layer of Aramis Lab Series Maximum Comfort Shave Cream. Gave that a couple of minutes for the benzocaine to work, and then got down to business.

On first full-on attempt, I got a more-than-passing good shave on all places but the moustache. That's gonna take some getting-used-to. Was able to work both one-handed and ambidextrous. The mirror was a bit confusing, since I'm used to doing my cartridge shaving in the tub.

One grazing in the "soul patch" area, but nothing that even called for the stiptic pencil.

Thanks to all the folks here who provide such excellent information!
