    Default First shave finally

My razor came in the mail (thanks Dylan) today and since I didn't shave the last few days I decided to try it out.
I started with just my cheeks but felt fine so I decided to do my whole face. I was using Bomb shaving cream and I think I need to practice making lather with it because it dried quick (not a negative review on it at all, this was my first time using it so my technique sucked).

The chin was the hardest part and I didn't do a very good job but my cheeks and neck are very smooth.

In a couple days I'll try again and keep watching Jockey's video to work on my shaving technique especially around the chin.

I went very slow, took around 35 minutes for my entire face and I had one very tiny nick that only had 1 drop of blood.

I'm glad to hear your first straight shave was a success. Here's to many more!

Hey Baited, congratulations on a good job done. 35 minutes and 1 nick isn't bad at all for a first time round. You'll have good days and bad but you're sure off to a good start. Pretty soon you hands and face will just go where they're supposed to and you won't even think about it anymore.

Well done Stephan! The chin is one of the tougher areas, so just hang in there. Keep an eye on the angle of your razor and you go around the corners, and keep at it.

Welcome to the club, and sounds like a good start.

I don't know what Bomb shaving cream is, but the better soaps will stay moist on your face without drying up quickly, assuming the stuff isn't sitting on your face for too long.

As for your chin -- I think this is the toughest part of the face for everyone. It definitely takes some practice to get a smooth chin, and because of the way the hair on your chin grows the same technique won't work for everyone. Watch some videos and see what works for you.

Well done. 35minuten it's not so bad for a first time.
And I certainly hope that your beard grows quickly for a 2nd time.
