I have found a few comments on SRP and other sites saying that some Dovo blades are coming brand new, and warped. I have had my Dovo (first straight razor ever) about six weeks now, but, haven't yet gotten a "great" shave out of it. I ordered a 30x jewelers' loupe online, so that I could give honing a whirl one day.. Well, I looked at my Dovo, and it only has a beveled edge for half of one side, and the "opposite" side has the reverse sharpened. I VERY carefully ran the blade a few laps on a Norton 8K waterstone, and it leaves water behind in this type pattern. It's super hard to see with the naked eye, let alone a picture. But, on the stone, with the blade flat, I essentially have an arch, then flip it over, and I have a letter "U". I know these are probably expressed as concave and convex or some term I'm not familiar with, but, you get the point. It's like its sharp on the center of one side, then sharp on the outside edges of the other side.
How in the world can something like this be fixed? Is it possible? Is it worth it? The type of razor is:
Dovo 'Best Quality' (plastic scales)
5/8 blade
Half Hollow
Would writing a letter to Dovo be a good place to start? Is that effective?
