Getting Anxious...First Straight Buying Decisions...
With so much excellent information I am starting to feel the information overload. But, I have narrowed my choices down to about 30 different options...
My money is burning a hole in my pocket, and I want to click the "purchase" button today! Who wants to throw out some last minute advice/classified/free offer?

Think wisely about the grind and size. Eventually you'll expand your razor collection but it's always best to start right off the bat with a good combo.

So. Much. Information...
My beard is pretty normal, but it does get a little squirly around my the bottom of my neck. And I have some renegade patches that seem to grow 3 times as fast as everything else.
I usually shave every other day unless my wife orders me to shave more.
My skin is not too sensitive with my Mach3 as long as I don't make more than two passes. Any more than that and I look pretty red and bloody.
I have been shaved with a straight before a few times with awesome results (he even shaved most of my head with it - when I went bald.) Don't know if that helps.

Throwing in my $.02 for what it's worth, I'd suggest a nice restored razor from either the Classifieds here on SRP or over at WhippedDog. I got a Rodgers 5/8 square tip on SRP for $50 about a month and a half ago and just ordered a Eyre 4/8 round tip from WhippedDog for $26. They are both shave ready. This way, you can make sure SR shaving is your thing before you spend a boatload of $$$. Besides that, it leaves you with more cash to spend on stuff like strops, cream, aftershave, etc, etc

It's a nice'n!
i just got my first spike/square point myself. it's really quite useful for nose/detailing a beard! and 6/8 is nice and stable.
definitely a fine look'n razor there.
