I would start with a hanging strop first. Yes you can keep a razor keen with the pasted strop and use it for daily use. The hanging strop is just a lot easier to learn and use for your regular every day stropping.

I can definitely vouch for Joe's razors and Tony's strops. Half my razors are from Joe. I have one from Tony, 2 from Gary, one from Vlad (a restoral he didn't have time to get around to so I took it on) and 2 from eBay. I have six from Joe. They all shave like lightsabers.
Tony's strops are excellent, I have 2 hanging and a paddle strop. And a couple of Vlad's boxes. And several creams and soaps. And... well you get the idea.
Be prepared when you start this, because your checkbook is going to take a hit. You won't be able to stop at just one (speaking from personal experience).
