Dubl Duck Satinedge (Pearl Duck)
I recently perchased this DD razor at a fleemarket, the blade is not rusted at all and is straight and not worn out in middle. Looks great and so far is the best shave I have attempted. Being as I am very new at this, I was wondering if this a good blade for beginners. I seem to have gotten the stropping down. What is the price range on one of these? I would say it is in Quite to Good condition

welcome to srp
sounds like you are a beginner "and so far is the best shave I have attempted",
i guess that would mean it is a good blade for beginners. congratulations! most struggle for some time to get there.
we don't do appraisals here, but since you asked nicely, the price range on these is from $0 to about $500.

Happy days
Glad you found one that you like, I went through a couple before I found the type that I prefer, now the problem is I can't see one without buying it!

Thanked: 1195My first straight razor was a 5/8 Satinedge. Although not much of a looker, it is a fine razor that shaves very well. The only drawback for average beginners might be the extra hollow grind that DD is famous for; it really demands a light touch. In the end you learn with whatever you have, and since I did just fine learning with this particular model I really do not have a problem recommending it.

To start I had an Illinois 361 dual strop, some brushless shave cream from LUSH, Thayer's Witch Hazel for after and an early Double Duck Special I won off eBay for $15. (hate me) It came nearly shave ready and I managed to hone it the rest of the way. (hate me again) Tim AKA Oldblades rescaled it for me. (now you may despise me)
Pardon the razor porn.

Thanked: 1185No, I would say that's a terrible beginner razor in fact send it to me at once so I can properly dispose of it
But seriously Dude, if you're lucky enough to 1. Score a Dubl Duck at the Flea Market and 2. Have a Dubl Duck as a first razor, I'd say you're doing well above alright. Were I you, I wouldn't dare curse the straight razor gods by selling off such a piece. I'd get the blade good and sharp and wollow forever in Dubl Duck luvin, but maybe that's just me.
The older I get, the better I was
