The razor looks great. How does it shave?
Well it shaves fine now when I got it not so good even though was supposed to be shave ready I've honed it now on shaptons up to there 30k which after I gave it a go on the 30k made the shave much smoother then it did on the 16k
great looking razor. excellent job on the scales. good to hear it shaves well too. good luck with it!
Nice.... very nice..
What did you use for pins?
The pins look very nice to me.
Thank you the pins are 1/16th brass pins and brass washers
hmm, is that frown on the blade, or my eyes are getting worse.
i personally could never warm up to the hart's design, though there are plenty of fans.
on the scales, it may be just the photo, but the curves don't seem quite smooth, but as you said it's your first attempt. i'm also not sold on the mismatched pins, but again it's a matter of personal taste.
the important part is that you're having fun with it :)
Well I have 5 straights so far and the hart is my least favorat to shave with doesnt give as good a shave as the others I have and since hart uses a scale with just the pin holding the blade (not actually a pin but a screw and nut ) thats why the pins differ on one side.
That's nice looking work. I like the shape of your scales better than the traditional shape.
thank you I like these scales better too I've only been using straights since March I'm working on replacment scales for a Boker I have the scales may not be perfect but I kinda like that home made look rather then that stamped out of a mold perfect shape look
