Kriegar KG101 looks like it has a "kitchen knife" hone
I understand the Kreigar is a seriously low-class low-quality straight razor. It happens to be the first one someone bought for me and I haven't yet used it.
The razor does look quite nice, but am I supposed to see what appears to be a hone copied from a kitchen knife?
As I understand it, a proper hone on a straight razor consists of straight intersecting lines extending essentially from the spine, as opposed to a kitchen knife hone which is usually only the last millimeter or so of the actual edge.
I'm currently looking for a better razor before getting into shaving, but for my own knowledge and education I'd appreciate some information on whether what I am seeing is as bad as it appears to me to be.
