    Default Pumped to get started!

Hey everybody. Just bought a couple of straights. A Worcester and Geo Harris. Both for $25. I did some sanding and buffing via SRP instruction and sending them to Kelly tomorrow can't wait to get them back and get started. It's exciting to know there is a big underground of straight users. It will be great to be a part of it and enjoy shaving instead of it being a chore! Stewart

Welcome to SRP mate, sounds like you have already found your way around the forum. The wait for those blades to come back will feel like an eternity. Good luck with you first shaves, just take it slow and enjoy.

Welcome to Straight Shaving and SRP. I think we are slightly above ground these days... You are off to a great start.

Welcome to str8's.. I know the feelings you are expressing well. Good call on sending off your razors to be shave ready from the start.. I'd reccomend choosing one, to start with, and sticking to only that razor for a while. If you read much on here, you'll find thread after thread of people wondering why there razor is doing this or that, and you'll notice that the responses are usually the same. "You probably dulled your razor by improper stropping" or "it's not the razor, it's your tecnique." You'll have a big advantage by keeping a untouched shave ready razor to refer back to when you reach your whit's end. The trick will be resisting the urge to use it. Anyway, that's my two cents. Good luck and just remember to go slow and stick to it.. It really has turned the "chore" into something I truly look forward to.

Thanks everybody for the kind words of wisdom. Looking forward to learning the fine art of SR shaving! You are right Ryno, but I will try my best to stick to one. Of the two, the Worcester is half hollow and the other is closer to a wedge(maybe 1/4 hollow) which would be better for a beginner?
