Thanked: 46Hello LNW and welcome to SRP!!! The Dovo Best Quality is a quality razor and to get the set is definitely a good buy. I would be sure to get the Pro Honed Option. For a little extra money you get a razor that is ready to go. I have yet to see a new Dovo that was shave ready when it only had the factory edge. Honing is a learned skill that is NOT THE SAME as sharpening a knife, so it would be good for you to have a second razor as a spare if your new razor dulls. Learning to strop is a skill but you can expect it to go much smoother than learning to hone. You need the second razor to use when you send the new one out to be honed every couple of months or so. As you learn to hone practice on the second razor and compare the edge to the new pro honed razor. That way you will have a known edge to gauge your skill by. The second razor can be bought for not a lot of money in the classified section hear at SRP. Usually there are a number of razors in the 35-50 dollar class that might not be a beauty queen, but properly honed will shave with the best out there. I could go on forever, but if you read the posts in this forum you will be off to a great start. VERY Best Regards and Happy Shaving, wildhog
