    Default Strop question

I recently purchased a couple of razors and stop from SRD. My question is this. My strop is the 3 inch Premium 3 Buffalo Leather Strop. What are my options for the four sides (front and back of the leather and front and back of the linen strop. I recently read a post about putting paste on the back of the leather. This may have covered in other posts but I couldn't find anything with a search. This may be ahead of what I should be considering since I have only shaved twice. The second time went much better than the first. I spent much more time on stropping on the second attempt. Thank You for all of the effort so many of you have put into this forum. Shaving with a straight razor has been something I have been interested in for many years but until I found this forum I didn't have enough info to know where to start. Sorry for being longwinded.

You don't want to put anything on the rear sides of the leather and linen on your daily strop really. Keep it on a separate strop.
You can always paste some Chromium Oxide on a piece of balsa, that's an inexpensive and great solution.

+1 I put chromox on the back side of one of my strops. Didn't really do so good. I made a balsa strop specifically for that purpose. Worked amazingly and was very cheap and easy to do.

Thanks bulldog and Blix on the quick reply. Is there a post on making a balsa strop?
