new to straight razors
hello im Jamie im from the UK....Scotland to be more precise, i was linked to your fabulous site by a nice friend (you know who you are)...and thank you ;).. im complementary new to straight razors i have always fancied using one but have never had the chance to try one out.
im currently learning what i can in the beginners section...wow so much more than i thought...cant wait to start.
i will have to build my kit up slowly well two parts really the second part being the razor i will need to save for this as i will get a good one.
few questions :
how can i find out who has put the edge on it and will it cost alot to get a pro to do it for me?
can i put an edge on it myself?
i shall bombard you with more questions no doubt.
....who thought shaving could become a hobby?
cheers

Welcome to SRP! all you really need is a expertly honed razor and a strop. You should try the vendor area for both as i'm sure there are UK listed and they would be your best source. not need to buy a pretty and expensive new razor. many people wind up damaging their first razor and strop while learning.

Since you're in the UK you could do worse than cast your eyes over this site and this one. Good luck.

Yes would recommend invisible edge too. Very helpful, highly recommended.
