Thanked: 0new to straight razors
hello im Jamie im from the UK....Scotland to be more precise, i was linked to your fabulous site by a nice friend (you know who you are)...and thank you .. im complementary new to straight razors i have always fancied using one but have never had the chance to try one out.
im currently learning what i can in the beginners section...wow so much more than i thought...cant wait to start.
i will have to build my kit up slowly well two parts really the second part being the razor i will need to save for this as i will get a good one.
few questions :
how can i find out who has put the edge on it and will it cost alot to get a pro to do it for me?
can i put an edge on it myself?
i shall bombard you with more questions no doubt.
....who thought shaving could become a hobby?
cheers
J4

Welcome to SRP! all you really need is a expertly honed razor and a strop. You should try the vendor area for both as i'm sure there are UK listed and they would be your best source. not need to buy a pretty and expensive new razor. many people wind up damaging their first razor and strop while learning.
jimBe just and fear not.
