    Default first razor

I'm currently a de shaver and want to try a straight. I'm looking for a very cheap razor thats ready to go. What it looks like doesn't matter. I just wanna get my feet wet and see if this is right for me. I see some plastic disposables on ebay, will they fit the bill? I'll upgrade later if I can get the hang of it.

To just to dive in and have a go a "shavette" is pretty good. I used one for about 3 months while I was saving for a razor/strop/hone and just learning how to shave with a straight. Just don't compare the shave you'll get with a shavette to a real straight. I found the disposables too sharp and gave me razor burn.

Having said that, it can be fairly cheap to get yourself set up with minimal outlay. Members here sell razors starting from round the $30-$40 mark and a Tony (one of the members here) sells "seconds" strops which are fantastic.

Lynn has some razors for sale currently for 50 and under. Also check this site out. There's a shave ready razor for 30 bucks. Also you can get a starter strop from Tony Miller for 23 bucks.
