Thanked: 21The Sound of Shaving, and a request for advice
Still being very new to str8s I noticed last night that the right side of my face always seems to get a better shave. My first thought was, "well dummy, you are right handed."
Being the more than slightly obsessive person I am, it continued to spin around in my head and I realised why as I was shaving.
I'm deaf in my left ear. On my right side I can hear the razor still removing hairs and use that feedback to tell me if I need another pass, or if something is off by just the slightest bit. Naturally my left side being deaf, I do not get that feedback.
Anyone have any suggestions for how to work around this minor and annoying problem?

Thanked: 109Shave with your right ear!
Seriously I have a similar problem. Left ear is dead to high pitched sounds of shaving. I just go by the push ATG with my finger method.

Get a wedge. You won't hear it on either side of your face, so you will develop your technique without relying on hearing.

Thanked: 21The wedge solution may be the answer to remove the crutch.

Thanked: 94that or listen to music, or simply put a ear plug in. I am right handed and hard of hearing in the right ear, still get better shaves on the right side...just takes practice i guess lol

Thanked: 9I am not even sure if I use the sound to shave. I do however know I use feel/resistance. Maybe you can do the same?
