I started doing all of my SR research about 6 months ago, shopped around and purchased my equipment and now I completing my 1st month of Man Shaving. I purchased a Dovo Silver Steel 5/8's Carbon brand-new from Vintage Blades and a "Regina" Kraut & Dohnal from Ebay. I shopped around and gathered up all of the necessary tools for this endeavor. Looking back at this last month I have had too many nicks and cuts to count, but I am happy to say that I am loving the shaves I am getting. I guess the last 3 have been that BBS shave everyone is chasing.
I do have a question though. The Regina I bought I got off of Ebay for $10 or so and it needed a little bit of work. I polished the blade and I got a couple wet stones to hone it. I had no problems honing and I have a great edge and everything is nice and sharp. The Dovo is starting to pull and, for lack of better words, drag while I am shaving. I am not having any problems stropping, could my Dovo be loosing its edge after only 1 month? I stropped the Dovo on a balsa wood strop with some Chromium Oxide and that worked, but is this normal?
I do shave every day, I rotate my razors and strop before each shave.
