Thanked: 0Is a brush and SE stand a good idea?
I've seen a lot of cool stands and was in the middle of making myself one out of wood when my dad brought up a good point. Wouldn't it be a bad idea to put a brush with moisture left in it on a stand next to a straight razor? Wouldn't it be the same as keeping the razor in the bathroom with all the humidity?

The one I made puts the razor behind the brush with a shield between the two, But you do have a good point. If there is no barrier between them, It might contribute to moisture on the razor. i don't know.

shouldn't be a problem if you keep your razor oiled and not actually touching each other

No doubt for a few hours within several inches of the brush the humidity will be elevated. I don't do it so I don't know though I have never seen any posts about razors rusting because of that method of storage.

Thanked: 3228I don't keep my straights in the bathroom but I don't think a damp brush in a stand next to a straight would cause any harm. I have a wall mounted medicine cabinet over the sink so I just crazy glued a round magnet to the bottom of the brushes and they hang inverted from the bottom of the cabinet. Nice and handy with no stand to make.
