Mt. Doom?
The point is that after the "time factor", the grinding & and chemical means of cleaning , a piece of steel that hasn't been exposed to fresh blood is pretty damn sterile or tens of thousands of us would be in hospital. :)
Dare I suggest that someone now makes a blade with the runic enscription on it that says one blade to shave them all and maybe put the name precious on the scales ??? Dare I suggest that someone makes a blade with sting scrawled on the blade and pearl inlay on the handle resembling elven zoomorphics.:medvl: .....just sayin !
Kinda makes me tingle just thinkin about it..............
You'de have to make a dragon hide strop for'em .
Dare I suggest someone make a strop that says pure dragon hide on one end and Smaug on the other with a dragon claw print on it.....I can't help myself sorry wayyyyy off topic.
I clean with alcohol and soak in a mild (1-2%) bleach solution for 15min before any of my restoration gear touches the blade. It might bring a little rust to the surface but it cleans right off with any polishing compound. That's guaranteed to kill anything remaining on the blade.
