Default Newbie at restorations- hi from Long Island NY

Just posted a thread in the razor forum but figured since i am a new user it may be benificial to show my face in here too! my name is joe, i have been wetshaving for years but have only started straight razor shaving for the past ,,, almost a year. in the last year i have come close to mastering the bbs shave we straight razor shavers adore. my first straight was a dovo, 5/8 full hollow which i purchased from srd. About 1 month after i started w/ the dovo i was in an antique shop with my wife when i came accross to unique T. Turton sheffield blade.... This started my research and also infected me with a hard case of rad---- so since that day i have had a thing for sheffield razors, particuarly w&b's, greaves and fenney's. so of course most 150 yo razors do not come shiney as a chrome bumper so i got to work and started restoring.... I figured while im at it what the hay and i started making my own scales and pinning. with out the help of all you guys here on srp i dont think i would have fallen in to this excellent hobby! lemme know if you want some pics of what i got, id be happy to share.

Yes please, pics of razors always welcome. There's a section for showing off your work here.

I did both resotores with sand paper by hand. Each blade had a pretty heavy patina, especially the 7/8 wedge.
started off with 220 grit to get the majority of patina off and to expose any pitting or discoloration
then i focused on the pitting with lower grit paper (100 grit). Then once that was done it progressed thoguh the grits from
    220,320,400,600,800,1000,1000 wet, 1500,2000, 2000 wet, 3000..... then i hand polished w/ mother and a thick towel for about 1 1/2 hours.

the wedge has homemade rosewood scales w/ a maple spacer
the etched hollow has homemade redwood burl scales
i think i need to work on my pinning.

lemme know what you think. FYI the 7/8 is an india steel and it a real prize to look at... and we all know how they shave.
