Default Shaving lower neck, hairy folks

I may be a little over zealous but does anyone have any tips for shaving the lower neck, i cant figure out how to hold the blade or what strokes to get my neck hair at least below the collar line of a t shirt

    ---\|/--- v

Hold with me. This is direction growth for my chest. And honestly I let a little tuff come out of my t-shirts. If a lady doesn't like the hair she can keep walking. The v and ^ indicate if it angles are N to S or S to N. I figure if I wanted to take a little more off I would use my cross hand grip. and work upper chest to neck. That is three fingers on the tang. Pinky on the tail. Scales basically resting on my pinky. Thin using a S to N stroke slightly angled toward the middle of the neck starting from the chest. I held my razor several ways in front of the mirror and found this to be the only comfortable approach to achieve a low angle for myself.

But as I said I let a bit of tuft stick out at the collar. Hope this helps.

Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Or is the OP talking about the back of the neck? I just go by feel with that, holding the razor in a manner that feels comfortable and relaxed.

For the back of the neck. I lean my head forward to stretch the skin and run the blade from hairline to base. I really haven't had a problem with hair sticking out the back of my shirts.

Maybe you could hold a mirror and watch what your doing from another mirror? It'll mess with your head a little but eventually, what you see and how you move your razor will click, takes practice. I've been shaving my head for 20 years, I use to use this method because I missed spots, I no longer need to do this.

Visualize the process and move slowly.

For me, the back of the neck below the collar line of a shirt, I use an electric trimmer (heresy I know) and for the front I use a DE.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thank you for the info. I was referring to the front as my hair starts at the top of my head and goes down to my feet with no breaks usually I just shaved it with a Gillette before but would like to get away from that and found myself staring at the mirror trying every which angle with my straight the other dAy

Oh geeze.....okay, clippers work wonders, that's what I do most times after trimming up the goatee. Or with the straight hold it horizontal , maybe at a slight angle? making light downward strokes. It shouldn't be much different than whatever you were doing before using a straight razor, same stroke just a different hand hold.
