Possible edge problem

I think I might have a problem with the edge. While I can't see it with the naked eye, I was looking through the microscope and found one area that didn't look like the rest.

I took pics at 60x and 200x. Obviously it's tiny but I'm still wondering if it's a problem that needs to be fixed. Does it look like a chip or overhoning? Should I be able to fix it myself (only have pasted strop) or do I need to send it out to an expert?

I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

I've known guys to be able to shave fine with something like that, but I wouldn't want to. If it doesn't cut you it will still irritate a little. I'd hone it out.

Since it's my brand new and only razor, I'm a litlle scared doing it myself. Nor I have norton stone at this point. Is it something I should be able to do with pasted paddle strop? Can I just do that one part without touching the rest of the edge? If answer to either question is no, I'm going to send it out.

I wouldn't use it like that it will cause irritation though it will cut fine. I would take X up on his offer. Don't mess with it yourself if you lack experience.

I'd consider that a chip. It's a jagged edge that'll cause irritation, as others said, and may cause some pulling at that spot on the blade. For an experienced honer it's a quick fix.

Any idea how it got there? The edge probably got banged at some point. That won't happen just from shaving.

I'm wondering if you shaved with this razor. Many times I see overanalyzing going on here particularly among newer folks and those that are just starting to get their razors sharp and are feeling out their expertise. One micro chip as seen here is usually not a problem when shaving. If you have a bunch like that next to each other you can still get a close shave, but usually not comfortable. It can certainly be honed out, but it really may not be necessary. Everyone has different approaches to honing, but at the end of the day, the comfort and closeness of the shave is what we are after.

I have shaved with the new razor. Let's just say I get much better shave with DE right now but that's absolutely due to my lack of experience and not this microchip. The chip is towards the beginning of the blade so it's doesn't even touch the face most of the time.

I think I'm going to keep shaving with it for a while and get more experience. After I get more or less satisfactory result, I might be able to tell whether the chip bothers me or not.
