Default What I've Learned as a Newbie

Thought I would pass this on as I have been using a straight razor for about a month now. I am hoping this will help others out there new to this.

    1. Take your time. I learned that when you start this is not going to be a fast process. If anything, this has shown me how much in a hurry we are. Anything that slows you down is good I believe.

    2. Light Touch. I was having horrible razor burn until I read the posts on not using too much pressure. Once I did that, the razor burn stopped. Keeping the right angle was key also.

    3. Skill. Using a straight razor is a skill - if it was easy everyone would do it. Developing a skill takes time, but the feeling of accomplishment I have this early into it is pretty great.

Appreciate all the other help out there and hope this will also help others.

    Thanks
