Thanked: 443Hello SRP Users!
Hello all,
There's a conversation going on among the Mentors about how folks navigate the site, and what's the best place to put something if you want lots of newer users to read it. We all develop our own patterns of finding what we're looking for, what's yours?
I'll start... My login goes to the main page by default, the one you get by clicking on the SRP logo in the upper left. From there I usually click Settings (upper right, next to Log Out) to see if there's any new action in threads where I've posted. Then I click the Forum link and usually head for the Hones threads. It's not what I know most about, but what I'm most curious about. Then to the Razors thread, or back to the Forum link to scan for interesting thread titles.
From there it's all free-form. What are your first few clicks upon arriving at the site?"These aren't the droids you're looking for." "These aren't the droids we're looking for." "He can go about his business." "You can go about your business."

I'll see if I can help keep the ball rolling...
I go straight to the main page where I'm logged in automatically. From there, I'll usually go to Quick Links - Subscribed Threads to check on my subscriptions. Then it's usually off to the beginner's section to see if I can give anyone a hand, then the SOTD, followed by the workshop to get some inspiration for whatever it is I'm working on. Finally, if I have time, I'll go to Quick Links - Today's Posts to see if there's anything recent that I've missed that catches my eye. And if I still have time I will generally wander around the forum to look for anything else that looks particularly interesting.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

By "main page" do you guys mean straightrazorplace.com or straightrazorplace.com/forum.php ? I'd assume the first, but that's not updated too often (other than the scroll with the latest posts). I think I usually go to the main forum page, then through various admin sections, and then back to the first page of few forum sections that are interesting to me at the time. But my pattern is probably atypical.

Thanked: 2284I always start at the main page and check out the feed board on the right to see if anything catches my eye. I do a lot of searching and reading on things I'm curious about. Recently its been a lot of reading about J-Nats. I just purchased an Oozuku that's on its way!!! I check the classifieds a lot too, to see whats new for sale.

N00b here, I usually access the forum directly via my phone using chrome for Android. Then it is: Beginner's, the shaving techniques forums, stropping, honing, and if I have time SOTD.
Why mobile? With the net connection where I live my phone connects faster than my laptop. Go figure.

Thanked: 485I've already posted this in the Mentors bit, but just for information gathering purposes...
I normally enter via the main page (i.e. straightrazorplace.com) but then immediately click on my name to view the notifications ('Likes', as I like to soak up that positive stuff).
I actually started making sure I go to the main page (i.e. straightrazorplace.com) a while ago, as I'd missed the fact I'd got a featured SOTD (after that positive reinforcement feeling again, I must be very fragile),
However, I find I then immediately I click on my name to see the 'Likes' and to follow most of them which is straight to the SOTD thread where I hang out a lot.
I always want to see the new SOTD's and also any replies to mine.
Also, I enter via email notifications to subscribed threads.
After I'm, bored of all the 'Likes' (and I've soaked up all the positive vibes for the day) if I'm still here I head to 'New Posts'. After that, it's to the Beginner's forum to say hello to the newbies and offer advice...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
