Unfortunately, I'm across the pond, else I'd teach you what limited wisdom I have. However, at the top of the site, look for the "Community" drop down menu. Once you've dropped it down, select "Member List". You may be able to find someone near you based on that and send them a private message.

Otherwise, the wiki is a great place to start, as well as any of the videos by Lynn or gssixgun on YouTube.

You haven't really specified what questions you may have, but the wiki should cover a good majority of getting started with a straight razor. If you don't find what you're looking for there, and can't find a local mentor, you're third option is to ask whatever specific questions you may have that weren't covered in the wiki.

While there is a learning curve, this isn't rocket science, so I'm sure you'll be able to get started without much trouble. On that note, whatever trouble you may have, we're here to help in any way we can!
