Thanked: 0Is it me or the Osma shaving soap
I cant seem to get a nice lather going on with this and its my only soap as well.
It dries on my face to quickly and sticks to my razor so I have to use my fingers to rub it off which makes cleaning my razor that bit more troublesome, but at the same time has bubbles in it which indicate to much water?, or am I doing something wrong.
Add more water?, to much water or do I need more soap on my badger brush.
Or is it the potassium alum the culprit.

I've not used the soap so I cannot speak for it. If your lather is drying on your face that is typical of my early shaves with a straight. It took me so long to get one side that the other would dry out and need relathering. This lasted for 2 or 3 weeks before I began to pick up enough speed to get both in one lathering.
Bubbles in the bowl indicate to me that you need to take longer, more swirls, until the bubbles are gone and the lather is consistently creamy. If you are using too much water IME the lather will drip off of your face and your razor as you do passes, if not before. Just my 2 bits.

You may also not be getting enough soap loaded onto your brush, in which case try covering the soap with hot water for a minute or two to soften it a bit. Your brush should load easier. Also, JimmyHAD was spot on about needing to swirl for a longer period of time. Also, try pumping the brush slightly up and down while swirling.

Thanked: 0Much better lather today, practised three time before shaving. My shave was way better for it, no cuts but a little razor burn under my nose.
Osma still dries really fast though.
