    Default Dry Shave

I had my first dry shave today and i was amazed....
I read about this stuff "Bold For Men" Dry shave gel a long time ago. It was given in goody bags to stars at the oscars or some such event. I tried but could never get a hold of it ,here in London or online.
I finally got some recently, yay
I was thinking maybe it was some kinda super grease or some thing. Until you try it you will never know. I applied some to my dry face and waited 30 seconds as instructed. Then i began to shave. Wow it was amazing, its clear and it kinda dissapears. My blade just glided through my hairs . I had one of the best shaves ive had. Super close, nic free and zero irritation.
After the shave i spent some time picking off hair cuttings from my face , then i applied a thin layer of Bold For Men . So it does the pre and the post.
I love all my pre oils and shave creams and so on but ill admit im blown away by this dry shaving thing.
I dont know if i will use it regular or just store it as my secret magic dry shave gel
Anyway i thought i'd tell you guys about it. If you havnt tried it, you should , just for the weirdness of it.
I think if your in American its quite easy to get ahold of?

It sounds like it takes all the fun out of shaving.

I like a wet slick shave. And my lather is on the wet side, drips slowly down the neck. I never tried it so I cant have an opinion on it.

The Shaving Cream Racket by Jeffrey A. Tucker

I do believe the canned goop you get in a typical store is useless and a primary source of discomfort. My ex-wife shaved herself completely dry with a multiblade razor as a matter of routine, including some unwanted facial hairs.

Whether as a straight razor shaver I should do this, I don't know, but I have no inclination to do so since I have kicked the canned goo habit and use soaps and brush.

I did become a cold water shaver, but don't think I'll go without brush soaps.

What I think happened is that the canned goo from around 1950 when it started was probably pretty good stuff and over the years they cheapened it kind of like they did with modern Williams.

I know it sounds crazy, a dry shave.
You have to experience it to understand it.
I cant fully explain it myself but im sitting here irritation free and i mean 100% free with the closest shave ive had in a long time.
    Water = Wrong
My dry shave today was slicker than any wet shave i've had , with no oil or grease,
I'm not even making sense to myself, but its true..

Never heard of this. I'm not saying I don't believe you. I guess if you live long enough you will see everything.

In advertising ridiculous claims are not uncommon.
Like "Dry Shave Gel" which the main ingredient is water.

I just don't get it, depilatories have been around for couple of decades now, why all the hype around this product now? Try Veet depilatory cream - cheaper, faster and more efficient. If anyone wants to switch to that type of shaving,I am ready to pick up your straight razor collection at a reasonable price:))))
