    Default Dutch Knife Exhibition

I know this isn't directly shave related. But this month on the 21st in Tiel there is the Dutch Knife Exhibition. (Wat is de DKE)

I though for people who love a sharp blade they might enjoy a sharp knife as well.

Although last few years Böker had a stand as well and they did have some razors with them.

I'd love to see some of you there. I'll be having a stand as a knifemaker myself. So if you have the time and feel like it, please drop by and say hello at my stand I'm the LX Blades, custom knives just the way YOU like them stand.

Oh yeah, entrance fee is €7,50 and there will be some cool workshops like scrimshaw and for a small fee you can try your hand at forging yourself.

    See you there?

    Alexander

Looks like a good show. Great to see you forge blades yourself!

Thanks. I do enjoy that I'm slowly getting better at it as well. My latest forging projects are coming out much nicer than my first few.

The show is quite nice. It's been growing the past few years. It started out very small but this year there are over a 100 tableholders.

Wish I wasn't at the other end of the world. I love a good knife show. I would be there if I could afford to travel for a whim, that's for sure. Good luck with your stand.

Thanks Mick, it'll be my first time having a stand at a knifeshow. I really wonder how it's going to go :-)

I don't expect you'll have a lot of time. I've seen some of your wares. Beautiful work.

Thanks Mick. Appreciate the compliment. However you might understand why I'd be nervous especially if you see that I'd be sharing one room with this guy:

Yeah that's all well and good if you're worried by people who make display pieces. I prefer users myself. And yours look like damn fine users. Surely you know that the prettiest girl is usually the one that is single. Everyone takes one look and says, "My god she's beautiful! Bet there is some lucky bloke out there who's caught that one." And then they go home to their plainer looking women, who know their mans needs and failings, and who work within that framework to help support and prop up where necessary. They aren't ugly women by any stretch, but they are down to earth, reliable and there when you need them. And that is how I think of knives. Yes I would love to own a real beauty, but I would never do anything other than show it off. It would essentially just be 'eye candy'...And a waste of money. Your knives are pretty, but not waste of money beautiful. I made my knives to be users and yours look like that to me too. Something useful, practical and user friendly. Special because they are hand-made and not mass produced, and a better knife because of it.
