    Default Simpson PJ1

    Hi All,

I thought I'd make a post about this. When I turned 35 I bought myself a PJ1 as a present. I'm now 39 () and I've used it almost everyday since then. I've tried a few others, and they have been good, but I love everything about this brush. The 'Sterilised' sticker has long since gone, and it's lost more than a few bristles, but I'm as happy with it now as I was the day it arrived.

So, for those pondering such a purchase, allow me to present some 'before and after' pictures:

My PJ1 in best badger is a very recent acquisition and I have to concur it does a really good job dealing with hard soaps.

    Gentlemen,
Simpson's Persian Jar is a delightful brush. I had the Persian 2 in super badger and loved it. Then I sold it. No idea why. A senior moment, perhaps. I regret not having kept it. Frankenstein, thanks for bringing up the subject. I might just buy the PJ2 again — and hold on to it into the next century.

I have a PJ2 in two-band badger that's a wonderful brush, but sheds like a demon. I have other Simpson brushes that don't shed, so I guess it's just this one.

I'm not sure exactly how much yours has lost, but mine has lost at least one a day. And there was a period when it lost some 5 or 10 a day for a couple of weeks.
In the photo it looks as good or better now. lol.

I'm talking of 30 to 40+ with each use. I bought it used, so Simpson won't touch it and I feel that it wouldn't be the right thing to sell a brush that sheds like this one does. So, I'll keep it and use it once in a while.
