I bought a Kent Blk2, for the money, it performed worse than the $20.00 brush I got with my starter kit. Floppy would be the exact description of it, and I hate floppy brushes, I prefer more aggressive brushes with a stiff backbone to them.
The boar brushes, specifically the Semogue 1305, was nice to try, but just doesn't fly with me.
If I were you, I'd first figure out exactly what you want in a brush, and PM one of the brush makers on this site and get a custom made. I know "pixelfixed" and "Walleyman" make some pretty fantastic brush's, and they will make you exactly what you want in a brush...I have one of Walleyman's brush's...and am most likely going to beg pixelfixed at some point in the near future to make one for me....in my opinion, that's your best bet...can't beat custom when it come's to a brush, IMO of course. :D

Most off the shelf brushes are set at a high loft.In theory they will cover all the bases,in reality, this is not true.
You can fine tune any brush to suit your wants and needs.

A custom brush is a very good way to go provided you know exactly what you want in the type of knot and the loft setting that works for you. A good maker can help you out with some suggestions from first hand experience. It is also a great way to get a unique personalized handle. I have one custom and another on the way plus a semi custom that I did myself to prove the loft setting I wanted for the second custom. More than happy with the results but then I knew what I wanted in type of knot and loft settings.

I should add that these 3 knots mentioned will face lather any cream or soap I have used equally well.

Kent is a floppy brush which does not work for me. Quality - yes but I like a firmer brush. The Thater 4125/2 fits that bill for me
