Thanked: 2Whats the word on Kent brushes
Hello Gents,
What are the thoughts out there on Kent brushes. I am thinking of getting me one, but want some sound reviews prior to shelling out some cash. Currently I have a Parker Silvertip and a Semouge 1305. Currently I only have soaps, but am going to try out some soft soft creams. Thanks for the input.

I have a kent that I have been using for a little over a year now (alternating with one other brush) I like it. I can't recall the model I have but it is very soft. If you like having lots of backbone its just there, at least not the one I have. It still works well with hard soaps as well as creams. All in all, I love the brush and will always keep it in my rotation.

I have a bk4 on the small side but holds a lot of lather and is luxuriously soft. I also bought a bk12 because I liked the 4 so much. It is huge and floppy but still very soft. The 12 seems like it takes a lot of cream to load and then there is four shaves worth left in the brush

Kent has a rep for floppy brushes. otherwise they make a quality brush and the packaging is top rate.

I had the small badger, BK4 IIRC. True to the rep it was soft. Not quite floppy because the loft was relatively short, but any larger and it would have been floppy. Too soft for me at any rate and it went to a member who appreciates soft more than I do. If you want soft but with backbone, and not floppy, Thater is your huckleberry.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I would never buy anything because of the case. I have a good number of watches that came with fancy cases and I'm sure they figure in a mint for them. I'd rather save the money personally and get some cheapo case. Like Jimmy the cases all go in a closet.

Gentlemen,
Kent is a quality brush, but considerably floppy for me. I have owned several, and all are gone.
Stack, if you want a superb brush, try a Thater and enjoy a great brush in every way.
