My favorite is a for-soap brush, which I like short and scritchy. It's a no-longer-made Rooney 1/1 in finest badger.

Not a “brush guy“ either. I have been using my Thater 4125 2-band (size 2) almost daily for the past 5 years and it is still going strong. An excellent brush that really hits the sweet spot for me.
I have a considerably cheaper best badger brush I use for travelling and that’s about it.
Same here. Not a brush guy, so I have five: a big floppy boar, Plisson in pure, Chinese synthetic, random old badger included in a lot, and a Thäter 4125/1 fan-shaped two-band.
I've been using the last one pretty much exclusively for 7-8 years. Still in great shape and just squashes any need for another brush.
LMAO - you last 3 posters, "not a brush guy", you each have a Thater, which is a pinnacle brush in my opinion, absolutely one of the best - so yea, you're brush guys.....LOL :-) All in fun....:)
I didn't make that cut lol. I'm not sure all the brushes I have together cost Thater-level coin-maybe someday. Lately I'm selling razors to buy hones and strops-maybe serious brushes are the next rabbit hole? I do love beautifully done handcrafted brush handled knots like we used to see from Pixelfixed and Andrew-where did Andrew get to anyway?
I have two Thater Brushes a 32 and a 35. Thater top of the line silver tip is the most dense brush I’ve ever seen. They’re great. Love em
My next brush will be Simpson Chubby
I have a Simpson Polo 8.....Obie made me buy it..lol. I love it !
