I have an ongoing struggle with my brushes. Currently I have a small pure badger, made in England (probably by a well known maker) for an obscure smaller English maker, that whips up a foam well but sheds so much that I resemble a rabid animal foaming at the mouth. My second pest is an Omega 48, I have heard lots of good things about this brush, but I have yet to work out why; I have tried many times but I cannot get a good lather built with it; using my Tabac soap (a true and trusted friend), I have experimented with bowl and face lathering, more and less water, but all I get is a translucent smear across my face. I am awaiting delivery of a Vie Long 4212 horse hair brush, I am hoping I can get a brush that lathers without the loss, but in the meantime does anyone have any advice as to how I can get my Omega to behave?!!
