My first Shavemac

Well, it arrived about an hour ago, and I'm well pleased.

Last month, I ordered this handle with a 20mm knot, set at 46mm loft, in DO1 Two Band hair in a fan shape.

The knot came in at 22mm as expected, with a 46mm loft, which was as I specified now that I recall. This is the stiffest knot I own, and truly a wee brush, although not "Wee Scott" wee ... This is what I was looking for. A bit surprised by the stiffness of the DO1 Two Band hair, but that's what I prefer.

I have a few jobs that I needed a wire brush for, but perhaps I'll use this instead...

Much nicer in person than in photos ..

Congrats on a fine brush...frankly, between the ability of being able to choose uber scritcthy or velvet smooth, along with customizing your diameter and loft - Shavemac has taken the premier spot in shaving brushes IMO.

My last SOTD had my new Jade handled D01-2 band - and the knot is hands down the most satisfying knot I've used.

I'm thinking Shavemac is the new King.

I also ordered the stunning custom Geoff Anderson "Americana" brush with the D01-2 knot.

My poor Morris & Forndran brushes, the three of them are all feeling all "back of the bus" now that they've lost their spot on my counter.

The next one I'm going to try from Shavemac will be the stellar two band Silvertip to complete the range.

After you've given it a few runs, update the thread on your impressions if you don't mind.

I will add one caveat .. This was ordered as a fan, but it looks awfully like a bulb..

I agree that if you are a man who prefers 'scritchy/prickly a Shavemac D0-1 two band is the best bet, and maybe the only bet of current production brushes. This 24x50mm knot/loft is also one that is probably the stiffest backbone/scritchiest I've had with the exception of an old Somerset made Simpson Manchurian Chubby 2. I sold it because it was too much of the good thing. I'm happy to say that this brush mellowed out in backbone after a few uses, and is now a perfect balance between backbone and scritch factor.

Gee, I don't know what to make of these rare brushes folks are talking about here. I guess there are a number of unobtainium class brushes out there that are the cats meow but you can't get them. Maybe you have to use the secret handshake or show them your bank account.

I'm glad brush fever is one malady I don't have.

That's my knot! 22x46 fan in D01 2band. Mine was broken in after 20 uses. It's my current brush of the month. Still not my favorite, but it is starting to grow on me... I've managed to thicken up my lather and it's not as messy as I've complained about here in the past. Please keep posting your thoughts as you acquaint yourself with your new brush.
