Thread: please recommend a scritchy brush... on a budget

I've been thinking of picking up another brush, something that is very scritchy/prickly. Sometimes I want to use a brush that really scrubs and feels satisfyingly scratchy. I also would like to be able to make a great lather in a bowl or mug with it, as opposed to a brush that works better for face lathering. Now, I'm on a budget for this and I'm no brush aficionado, that's for sure, so any recommendations are much appreciated...

Thanks for the replies and ideas, guys. I will look into these different options and go from there. "Our custom brush makers", eh? Where do I find who's on that list?

You might take a look at some of the Semogue boar brushes. I use the #830 on the cheap hard to lather soaps like Williams.

An inexpensive Omega 10066 boar brush might also fit the bill. Once they are well broken in they are great to use. Then there is horse hair brushes that have a ton of prickly to me at least.

Thanks, Benz... I have the 620, which I really like and it's well broken in but it doesn't feel all that scritchy to me... Maybe the 830 is pricklier?

Head over to the Brushmakers Alcove and look over the threads from members here who have created some nice brushes.

i like my Semogue 830. relatively inexpensive too.
