How about putting a collective order together for SRP members?
+1 for this!
+2 for that idea
definately count me in on this!!:y
Count me in too. I hope I make the first 30 this time.
+1 here.
This is a great idea!
I'd be up for one:tu .
John
Ahh.... sounds like a great idea! I actually just ordered one this morning though :y can't wait to get it.
Sounds like an awesome idea. I can't committ without knowing a timeframe/price, but if it's possible, I'd definitely be in.
Well................. I will place a call in the morning and see what they can do for us. If at least 10 of us are interested, then we have some basis for discount..............maybe?????
this might not even be limited to 30 like the maestro.
The vendor might sweeten the price with a pallet size order.

I'd jump in but I just picked up one on the B/S/T yesterday. If you end up doing some kind of a special color or number or SRP logo type thing I'll spring for one....they are usually $40 new I think, right?
I'm willing...hehe
I was looking at that scuttle before.. What's the discount going to be like ?
I'd be interested as well.
Count me in.
depending on price and color options i would be interested also. I have been looking at scuttles since I started wet shaving (about a month or so) but the moss and super look too big and not deep enough. The georgetown looks much much more appropriate in terms of size and shape.
I own a Georgetown Pottery scuttle in the "Hamada Blue" pattern. I love this scuttle. But don't be fooled, this scuttle is heavy and pretty good sized. I have pictues of my scuttle on another, thread here at SRP. The pic I have on SOTD will provide a frame of reference.
I'd be interested.
I am absolutely interested. I will need to sell my moss scuttle first though. I like my moss scuttle, but I want to be able to build lather in the same cup. I was going to by one of Oscar's, but the design, price, and color options make the Georgetown Pottery scuttle a no-brainer to me.
Yeah, they are $40 plus about $6 shipping from Maine. When I placed my order with Jeff last December, he was still making them freehand, about 12 scuttles per batch, and it would take 2 weeks for the process. He was in the process of making a mold, though. If he has done that, he'd be better able to accomodate a bulk order.
I left an email with the vendor to check out our site and asked for a group buy if possible.

I would be interested, but depends on the price and the time frame.
A quick response from the vendor....
Hello Robert,
There is no problem arranging a group buy.
It would still take about 3-4 weeks to get the scuttles made.
We are not going to be able to offer a discount while they are hand thrown.
If you want to wait until they are cast, we could offer you some sort of
deal. We should be able to cast them sometime this summer. We are still
working the bugs out, you guys have been a great help with this.

Thank you Robert for the follow-up on this.
I just talked to Lori, they are still working on a cast to "mass" produce vs hand thrown, and such mold will not be done til early summer. They are not satisfied with the present resultand are still working at it. They are right now not able to offer a discount, because of the amount of labor involved, but will be a possibility as mass production takes place.
I did not wait until summer, I just placed the order.
Maybe you can help me,,,I can't find them on their site:shrug:
I don't think they have them on their site.
You have to call to order one. The color
options are the same as their plates.
John
I"M IN!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah........
I couldn't wait. I sold my moss scuttle to another member here, and already orederd up my Georgetown Pottery Scuttle. I decided on Hamada & Purple. Lori seemed very nice on the phone. She said it would take a few weeks to make, but I could call anytime to check on the progress. I can not wait until it arrives.
Count me in for one.
The Moss Scuttle..........................deposed?

I am not knocking the moss scuttle I sold. It worked great. I just did not like that it was too small to build lather in the actual scuttle. It was not a big deal transfering the lather. It was just a personal thing. At least a member here bought it, and it will continue to be enjoyed/used.
Just got off the phone with Georgetown Pottery! Cant wait to get mine.
Does anyone have a pic of the scuttles??? Thanks.
I order one last week.
RPR.
I would like to thank Proon73 for giving me an excuse to show off my scuttle ;)
Just got this 2 days ago. The color is the Hamada Parsimmon (sp?). I really like it - as long as I keep filling it with hot water every other pass or so, the lather stays nice and warm.
