Exclamation the lazy cheap way to keep lather warm

Hey gents I've discovered a cheap and relatively effective way to keep your lather warm during the shaving process. What I do is I firstly run very hot water into my bowl as to get it as warm as possible, then I mix my lather as normal. But to keep the lather warm I keep very hot water in the sink and leave my bowl in the sink, not enough that my bowl floats around (otherwise the brush would capsize it which would water log my lather rendering it useless) just enough to keep the bowl touching the sink bottom. I have found this to be a good way to keep lather reltatively warm throughout the save. Though the water in the sink has to be realy realy hot from the start or it wont work.

I did this also when I took my mug with me and visited Europe last month with good results. Just have to be careful not to get the sink water over the brim of the mug/bowl and into your lather. Didn't really like getting shaving cream/whiskers all over the mug from cleaning the razor in the water wherein the mug was resting either, but it works.

I think I read elsewhere of some people 'floating' lather bowls in the sink water.

I have a simpler, cheaper way. Just lather on your face and hit the brush under the hot tap every now and then.

i also keep my mug in sink of "warm" water as my tap water doesnt seem to get hot enough EVER so the lather stays just barely warmer than the air temp, but its still better than cold lather

They have little crock pots for potpourri - you could lather in one of those and keep it plugged in....

I use a thin plastic cup inside a styrofoam cup. It works well for me.

Well I'm impressed looks like there are many of us "cheap" gents, which I wouldn't say is a bad thing as its the cheap and lazy that come up with the best ideas, and inovations to make life, or in this case shaves better for all.

well gents heres another cheap idea
i bought a nice mug at marshalls for about $2.00 and used a glass custard dish along with it , it goes like this
i fill the sink with hot water and let the mug and dish sit in the water will i get psyched
then i leave the mug 9/10 full with hot water and put the custard dish on top so the dish is sitting in hot water in the mug, put a 2" dolop of my favorite shave cream in the dish and whip it up with my wet badger brush, after moping my face i put the brush back into the dish, the hot water in the mug keeps the brush and lather hot for all three re lathers that i do during my three round shave, finish off with hot water from the mug some Geio Trumper Coral skin food, Bay rum and im a perfectly baby butt smooth shaved gentelman agian AHHHHHHHHHH
sound so good i think ill go shave, see ya in the mirror,
enjoy, it's good to be back,
    Grottolord,
