Do Badgers Shed?

Do you think whether a brush sheds and how much is a mark of it's quality or do you think most brushes should be expected to let go a few hairs especially when new?

With my brushes I've never had a new brush do much shedding maybe a hair or two the first week and maybe a stray hair every 6 months or something like that.

Back in the old days they didn't have the adhesives they have now so over time and with exposure to moisture shedding was expected or was it?

But back to the original topic. Do live badgers shed. Just think, you could follow them around and harvest their hair if they did. Har Har.

Yes they do! A fiend of mine in Wisconsin has a badger named Bucky, he will roll over on his back and let you rub his belly and then he will wiggle all over the sofa leaving hair everywhere, this really ticks off my friends wife who has to brush it out of the fabric by hand.

That's cool I would have a pet badger. I've always loved strange pets. I wish skunks were legal pets in my state. I need to do some research on pet badgers. Of course mine would be bald in a week.

Try shaving a badger that would be the trick, and ironic I suppose. Don't get any nicks. Maybe you could just use a live badger.

That might just work on a live badger...If you use proper badger preparation prior to the shave. Perhaps a dram or two of alcohol for sedation--followed by a muzzle to prevent biting? A hot towel to relax the badger and soften his/her hair?

I would also suggest a severe pedicure to go with the muzzle!

my history of brushes include.. vdh, bodyshop, aos pure badger, and aos synthetic/pure badger sampler brush... all have shed like crazy except for the aos pure badger and the body shop synthetic.

i'm convinced i just don't know what the hell i'm doing.
