Default I finished my first attempt at my own brush

    Materials
    Hemlock Spindle
Dark Maroonish Stain (matches my front porch bench...)
    Minwax Wood Hardener
    Minwax Finnishing Wax
    Loctite Marine Epoxy
    TGN 24mm Knot

total cost... 30$ish with enough stain, hardener, finish, and epoxy to make 20 more brushes.

Im very satisfied with the way it turned out. heres some pics

    Nice job!

I like the longer handle as well, makes it easier to lather when you have a deep mug..!

Handsome brush. For number 1 you did well.

Based on the picture as I see it the only recommendation might be to sink the knot a little lower in the brush.

the knot is completely under the edge of the handle. The grey stuff is exess epoxy.

Nice work for your first brush. One tip about getting the knot to fit well -- make the hole just slightly SMALLER than the knot and then grind the knot down slightly to fit it into the hole. That way you will always get a much tighter fit between the knot and the hole. Just make sure that you grind the knot symmetrically, or it will look uncentered when you glue it in.

Try using clear epoxy too, and if any squirts out, use some thinner or white vinegar to wipe it off before it dries.

NICE! Very sleek design, I like it, excess glue is the only real criticism, but then again it's your brush who should complain.

If the hole is a tad large you can use gorilla glue which expands as it dries. Just use it very sparingly so it doesn't ooze out.
