cheap brush for 7 bucks, What Gives !!!
Guys
read the title ;-)
/rant
Walked by the "men's cosmetics section" in a local supermarket today and saw a cheap brush for 7 bucks. it even said "blaireau" on it which is french for "badger".
I knew it wouldn't be a good brush, but I thought, it would be OK for taking it with me on travelling and stuff.
So, I just shaved and used the brush to lather up. I'm a noob at straight shaving, been doing it for about a month now. My first brush cost me 60 bucks....
And capitalism once again proved its golden rule: you get what you pay for. the brush is just awful. it's really corse and the hair is really, really stiff. not only does it kinda sting on my face, I also can't really work it into my skin.
I was alraedy a bit suspicious back in the supermarket when I saw it on the shelf, since there was no real shaving cream around - only that canned stuff. So why would a supermarket sell this anyway? To wipe canned shaving cream around your face? It really doesn't make any sense to me.
I will probably keep it as a backup brush, but I'll continue using my expensive brush.

Hmmm
I dunno... I mean, the supermarket gets 7 bucks from me. They keep two bucks, leaving the manufacturer with 5 bucks. add in 1 buck of shipment costs, 1 buck for the bowl of rice to feed the asian who produces it and you're down to three bucks for a product that doesn't make any sense if you don't sell any real shaving cream with it.
Maybe i should give it a chance anyway. I really don't want to take my expensive shaving stuff with me when travelling. So I guess I will have to get used to it...
