Looking for a (decent) quality first brush without breaking the bank.

What do you think guys, good deal, or too good to be true?

Can you guys recommend a specific brush for a beginner that is quality and isnt too expensive (within reason)..I'm having a hard time sorting through the plethora of stuff available.

A good brush and it can be had for 1/2 the price from another vendor on ebay. I cant remember the vendor atm.

Nice looking brush. It looks like my Frank Shaving brush. Check on ebay for Frank Shaving. I believe that star shaving also carries them.I think the vendor on ebay is Ian Tang.

A good brush and it can be had for 1/2 the price from another vendor on ebay. I cant remember the vendor atm.

If you have any recollection at all, send some love my way, I would pick this up no questions asked if it was half price, heck i'm considering it at this price anyways.

Has anybody come into contact with this brush before, and if so, how does it compare to name branders?

It`s the "finest" bagder. From what I`ve heard, the silvertip from Frank Shaving is missing a bit of backbone. Anyways, I'm more than happy with the "finest" brush.

For an inexpensive starter brush, this is probably one of the best deals you can find. Take a look at his other brushes, he's got a few handles, knot sizes and lofts to chose from.

I am pretty happy with my $13 Omega Boar Hair Brush and I really like it so far. I like the stiffness and while I thought it was going to be rough on my face it actually feels great. I am glad I gave it a try.

Take a look at Fendrihan.com out of Toronto. I bought one of the cheaper brushes for my son and price/quality is excellent.

I think that brush at 23mm and a 63 mm loft would be more suited as a paint brush,would be terribly floppy.JMO

Vulfix Superbadger Brushes are a good balance of price and performance. I think the Chinese are now the big supplier of badger brushes.

+2 on the Frank shaving Finests, Excellent performance and value IMHO.

The Fan Shaped Finest at 21mm/47mm is particularly nice. I have one and really like it. It compares favorably with many of my "high end" badgers.

For a similar price point in boar, you can also get an Omega Pro 49 or a Semogue 1470, both of which are excellent brushes.
